Biography
NewJeans is a South Korean girl group formed by #ADOR#, a subsidiary of Hybe, and created by producer Min Hee-jin. Members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein debuted on 22 July 2022 with the single 'Attention', followed by the first extended play 'New Jeans' that August. The single album 'OMG' and its song 'Ditto' brought major chart success in January 2023, and the second extended play, 'Get Up', topped the Billboard 200 with singles including 'Super Shy'. The group made its Japanese debut in 2024. In November 2024 the members announced they were terminating their contracts with #ADOR#, beginning a legal dispute the courts resolved in the label's favour. Haerin, Hyein, Hanni and Minji returned, while Danielle's contract was terminated on 29 December 2025, leaving NewJeans a four member group.
