Biography
English pianist Nicky Hopkins was rock's definitive sideman, his piano and organ lifting classic records by *The Rolling Stones*, *The Kinks*, *The Who* and *The Beatles*. A former member of the Cyril Davies All Stars, the Jeff Beck Group and Quicksilver Messenger Service, he favoured studio work because Crohn's disease made touring difficult. His rare solo album 'The Tin Man Was a Dreamer' appeared in 1973, and he remained in demand until his death in 1994.
