Nisennenmondai

Biography

Nisennenmondai is a Tokyo instrumental trio of Masako Takada (guitar), Yuri Zaikawa (bass) and Sayaka Himeno (drums), formed in 1999 and named after the Y2K problem. Their music loops short riffs over relentless drumming into hypnotic, techno-like structures, heard on albums such as 'Destination Tokyo' (2009) and 'N' (2013). The same three musicians have sustained the project for over twenty-five years, an unusually stable line-up for so relentless a music.
