Biography
Tokyo producer, born Jun Seba, whose warm jazz-sampling hip-hop on #Hydeout Productions# — 'Metaphorical Music' (2003) and 'Modal Soul' (2005) — anticipated lo-fi hip-hop. Known for the 'Samurai Champloo' soundtrack and the *Shing02* 'Luv(sic)' series; he died in Tokyo in 2010. Working quietly and shunning publicity, he built an international following through imports and the Champloo broadcasts, and his influence on the lo-fi hip-hop and jazz-rap generations that followed has only grown since his death, aged 36.
