Opio

Opio Lindsey is an American rapper and producer integral to the architecture of West Coast underground hip-hop. As a founding member of Souls of Mischief and the Hieroglyphics collective, he helped define a lyric-conscious, funk-infused alternative to the era's dominant gangsta rap. [3, 9] His style is marked by a distinctive, laid-back flow and intricate lyrical storytelling, which evolved from the group's seminal '93 'til Infinity' into a solo career that began with 'Triangulation Station' in 2005. [1, 3] Through his work and the independently-run Hieroglyphics Imperium label, Opio shaped a model for artistic autonomy in hip-hop. [9]
