Paul Westerberg

Biography

Minneapolis singer and songwriter who fronted *The Replacements* and wrote their defining songs. His solo work, from '14 Songs' (1993) through the home-recorded 'Mono'/'Stereo' pair (2002) and 'Folker' (2004), extends his wry, bruised songwriting beyond the band, and he later recorded with *Juliana Hatfield* as *The I Don't Cares*. His songs have been covered by younger generations, and his solo records remain a model of unpolished, heart-on-sleeve rock songwriting.
