Pianos Become the Teeth

Biography

Baltimore post-hardcore band formed in late 2006, a central act of the movement dubbed “the wave”. Two intense screamo albums, 'Old Pride' (2010) and 'The Lack Long After' (2011), gave way to a spacious reinvention on 'Keep You' (2014), where Kyle Durfey replaced screaming with controlled singing over post-rock textures. The five-piece line-up — Durfey, guitarists Chad McDonald and Mike York, bassist Zac Sewell and drummer David Haik — has been stable since 2013, through 'Drift' (2022).
