Biography

Pylon were an Athens, Georgia quartet of art students, Vanessa Briscoe Hay, Randall Bewley, Michael Lachowski and Curtis Crowe, whose minimal and danceable post-punk made them local legends. 'Gyrate' from 1980 and 'Chomp' from 1983, both on #DB Records#, are their defining records, with a third album, 'Chain', made after a 1989 reunion. The band finally ended with Bewley's death in 2009, and the 2020 'Pylon Box' set gathered the first two albums and many rarities.
