Emerging from the city's vibrant hardcore scene, the band was founded by frontman *Walter Schreifels* of *Gorilla Biscuits* and *Youth of Today* fame. Their sound, a powerful blend of heavy riffs, melodic tension, and dynamic rhythms, drew comparisons to acts like *Helmet* and *Fugazi*. After a debut EP on #Revelation Records#, they signed to #Polydor Records#, releasing their influential first album 'Slip' in 1993.
