Roly Porter

Biography

Roly Porter is a Bristol based British electronic musician, formerly one half of pioneering dubstep duo Vex'd with Jamie Teasdale. Their 2005 album 'Degenerate' helped define early dubstep, but Porter solo work on #Subtext Recordings# and #Tri Angle Records#, including 'Aftertime', 'Life Cycle of a Massive Star', 'Third Law' and 'Kistvaen', moves toward industrial classical music built from strings, voices, noise and immense bass. His compositions favour atmosphere and physical weight over club rhythms.
