Russ Freeman

A pianist and composer who was a key architect of the West Coast Cool Jazz sound. His intelligent, lyrical, and often subtly percussive playing was a hallmark of his celebrated partnership with trumpeter Chet Baker. He was a tasteful and sophisticated accompanist and soloist.
