Biography
Sam Prekop is a Chicago singer-songwriter, guitarist and visual artist who fronts *The Sea and Cake*, formed in 1993, after starting out in the post-punk band *Shrimp Boat*. With The Sea and Cake he made 'Nassau' (1995) and 'The Fawn' (1997) for #Thrill Jockey#, fusing indie rock with bossa nova and jazz. His solo records run from the Brazilian-tinged 'Sam Prekop' (1999) to the modular-synthesiser work 'Comma' (2020).
