Set Fire to Flames was an instrumental collective from Montreal, Quebec, active from 2001 to 2003 and initiated by guitarist David Bryant. Drawing members from *Godspeed You! Black Emperor*, *Fly Pan Am* and other Montreal groups, the ensemble combined strings, brass, guitars, percussion and tape manipulation into brooding, minimalist soundscapes. It released two albums on #Alien8 Recordings# and #130701#: 'Sings Reign Rebuilder' in 2001, recorded in a decaying Montreal house, and the double album 'Telegraphs in Negative/Mouths Trapped in Static' in 2003, recorded in an Ontario barn.
