Biography
Setting is an instrumental trio from Durham, North Carolina, formed in 2021 by Nathan Bowles on strings, keyboards and percussion, Jaime Fennelly on harmonium and synthesizers, and Joe Westerlund on drums and percussion. Born from weekly improvisational sessions, their music fuses drone, free folk and post-rock into long, slowly unfolding pieces. Their debut, 'Shone a Rainbow Light On', appeared in 2023 on #Paradise of Bachelors#, followed by live albums and a second studio album, 'Setting', on #Thrill Jockey# in 2026.
