Biography
Silver Apples were an American electronic rock duo formed in New York City in 1967 by Simeon, who sang and played a home made oscillator instrument he called the Simeon, and drummer Danny Taylor. Their albums 'Silver Apples' in 1968 and 'Contact' in 1969 were among the first rock records built on electronic sound. Simeon revived the name in 1996 with keyboard player Xian Hawkins and drummer Michael Lerner, making 'Beacon' and 'Decatur', and Taylor returned for 'The Garden', the duo's shelved 1970 album, released in 1998. Simeon later performed solo as Silver Apples and released 'Clinging to a Dream' in 2016.
