Biography
Sissy Spacek is a Los Angeles noise band formed in 1999 and centred on John Wiese (electronics, bass, vocals) and Charlie Mumma (drums, vocals), with rotating collaborators. Named after the actress but unrelated to her, the group alternates rapid noisecore and grindcore bursts with musique concr猫te and free improvisation. Since its self-titled debut in 2001 it has released dozens of mostly limited recordings, many on Wiese's #Helicopter# label, including 'Scissors', 'Freaked with Jet', 'Ways of Confusion' and 'Entrance' in 2025.
