Biography
SML are a Los Angeles jazz quintet formed in 2022 by Anna Butterss, Jeremiah Chiu, Josh Johnson, Booker Stardrum and Gregory Uhlmann. Their music is built from edited live improvisations, a method showcased on 'Small Medium Large' (2024) for #International Anthem# and its follow-up 'How You Been' (2025). All five members are bandleaders in their own right within the Los Angeles and Chicago improvised-music scenes.
