Biography
Sparta is an American rock band from El Paso, Texas, formed in 2001 from the ashes of the influential post-hardcore group *At the Drive-In*. Led by singer and guitarist Jim Ward, the band channeled their previous outfit's energy into a more melodic and structured, yet still emotionally charged, sound. They debuted with the acclaimed 2002 album 'Wiretap Scars' on the #DreamWorks# label, establishing themselves with singles like 'Cut Your Ribbon' and 'Air'. After several albums, including 'Porcelain' and 'Threes', and a lengthy hiatus, the band returned with 'Trust the River' in 2020, continuing to evolve their anxious and epic brand of guitar rock.
