Biography
Spirogyra was an English progressive folk band formed in Bolton in 1967 by Martin Cockerham and Mark Francis, and rebuilt in Canterbury in 1969 with Barbara Gaskin, Steve Borrill and Julian Cusack. Its three albums for #B&C Records#, #Peg Records# and #Polydor Records#, 'St. Radigunds', 'Old Boot Wine' and 'Bells, Boots and Shambles', made it a cult name in British acid folk. Cockerham revived the band for two further albums decades later.
