Steve Tibbetts

Biography

American guitarist and composer from Madison, Wisconsin, based in Minnesota, known for treating the studio as an instrument. His albums for #ECM Records# and later independent releases, most with percussionist Marc Anderson, layer electric and acoustic guitars with field recordings and Asian percussion, as on 'Chö' with Tibetan nun *Chöying Drolma*. Working from his Minnesota studio, he builds each record slowly by hand, treating production itself as composition.
