Biography
Storm & Stress was a Pittsburgh experimental rock trio active from 1994 to 2000, built around guitarist Ian Williams, drummer Kevin Shea and bassist Eric Emm. Across two albums for #Touch and Go#, 'Storm & Stress' (1997) and 'Under Thunder and Fluorescent Lights' (2000), the group combined math-rock precision with free improvisation, silence and sudden rhythmic shifts. The records became touchstones of late-1990s American post-rock, and Williams later found wider fame with *Don Caballero* and *Battles*.
