Sweep the Leg Johnny was a Chicago post-rock band formed in 1996, named after a line in the film The Karate Kid. Saxophonist and singer Steve Sostak and guitarist Chris Daly built the band around drummer Scott Anna and, from 1998, bassist John Brady. Their albums '4.9.21.30' (1997) on #Divot Records#, 'Tomorrow We Will Run Faster' (1999) and 'Sto Cazzo!' (2000) on #Southern Records#, and 'Goin Down Swingin' (2002) mixed saxophone led melodies, convoluted guitar work and extreme rhythmic precision.
