Biography
Swell were an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1989 by David Freel and Sean Kirkpatrick. Their atmospheric, home-recorded albums '...Well?', '41' and 'Too Many Days Without Thinking' won a devoted European following and anticipated slowcore. Freel led the band until his death in 2022. Their influence runs quietly through slowcore and indie rock, and their records were championed in Europe long before America caught up.
