Swing Out Sister are an English sophisti-pop group formed in Manchester in 1985 by keyboardist Andy Connell, drummer Martin Jackson and singer Corinne Drewery. Their single 'Breakout' and the UK number one debut album 'It's Better to Travel' made them international stars, fusing pop with jazz and lush orchestral arrangements. Jackson left in 1989 during the second album 'Kaleidoscope World'; since then Drewery and Connell have worked as a duo, releasing a steady run of albums and maintaining an especially strong following in Japan.
