Biography
The Ataris are an American pop-punk band formed in Anderson, Indiana, in 1996 by singer-songwriter Kristopher Roe, the group's only constant member. After the #Kung Fu Records# debut 'Anywhere but Here' (1997), the Santa Barbara-based line-up of Roe, Mike Davenport, Chris Knapp and Marco Peña built a cult following with 'Blue Skies, Broken Hearts... Next 12 Exits' and 'End Is Forever'. 'So Long, Astoria' (2003), on #Columbia Records#, went gold on the strength of 'In This Diary' and a hit cover of 'The Boys of Summer'.
