Biography
Glasgow chamber pop band formed in 1985 by Chris Thomson, formerly of *Friends Again*, whose weathered voice and romantic songwriting define the group. With a floating ensemble of string players, keyboardists and rhythm sections, The Bathers made the acclaimed Marina trilogy of 'Lagoon Blues', 'Sunpowder' and 'Kelvingrove Baby' in the 1990s. Reformed by Thomson in 2016 after a long hiatus, the band returned with 'Summer Lightning' in 2022 and 'Sirenesque' in 2023.
