Biography
The Builders and the Butchers are a Portland, Oregon folk rock band formed on 31 October 2005 by Alaska-born musicians led by singer and guitarist Ryan Sollee. Starting as an acoustic street band, they built a devoted following with dark, Southern gothic story-songs, split percussion, mandolin and banjo, and rowdy, participatory live shows. Their self-titled debut appeared in 2007, and albums for #Badman Recording Co.# including 'Dead Reckoning', 'Western Medicine', 'The Spark' and 'Hell & High Water' established them as durable Americana and indie folk favourites across the United States and Europe.
