Biography
The Charlie Daniels Band was an American Southern rock and country band formed in 1970 by fiddler Charlie Daniels. Their 1979 hit 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia' became a genre standard. Led by Daniels's fiddle and gravelly voice, the band mixed country storytelling with rock and blues muscle, and toured for fifty years, until Daniels's death in 2020. Their songs celebrated working-class Southern life.
