Biography
British progressive rock band founded in 1973 by composer and keyboard player Robert John Godfrey with guitarists Francis Lickerish and Stephen Stewart. The Enid's orchestral, classical-rock albums, from 'In the Region of the Summer Stars' (1976) and 'Aerie Faerie Nonsense' (1977) to 'Invicta' (2012) and beyond, pursue a romantic, symphonic ideal outside fashion. Godfrey left in 1999, returned in 2007, and resumed the lead role in 2018; the band's loyal following has sustained five decades of activity.
