Biography
The Four Freshmen, formed at Butler University in Indianapolis in 1948, is an American vocal quartet whose open jazz harmonies and self-accompaniment reshaped pop singing. Signed to #Capitol Records# through *Stan Kenton*, the group hit with 'It's a Blue World', 'Mood Indigo' and 'Graduation Day', and influenced *Brian Wilson*. The last original member retired in 1992, yet successive quartets have kept the group performing continuously, making it one of America's longest-running vocal acts.
