Biography
The House of Love are a British alternative rock band known for their shimmering, psychedelic-tinged guitar work and the literate, romantic songwriting of frontman Guy Chadwick. Formed in 1986, they quickly became darlings of the UK indie scene with their acclaimed 1988 debut album on #Creation Records#. The creative and personal tension between Chadwick and original lead guitarist *Terry Bickers* defined their early sound. After signing to #Fontana Records#, they achieved commercial success with their second self-titled album in 1990, often called 'The Butterfly Album', which featured the hit single 'Shine On'. The band disbanded in 1993 before reforming in 2003 for new albums and tours.
