Biography
The Icicle Works were a Liverpool alternative rock trio formed in 1980 around singer-songwriter Ian McNabb, bassist Chris Layhe and drummer Chris Sharrock. Part of the city's neo-psychedelic scene, they broke through on #Beggars Banquet# with 'Love Is a Wonderful Colour' and their 1984 debut album 'The Icicle Works'. After four albums the original trio split in 1988; McNabb carried the name to one last album, 'Permanent Damage', in 1990 before going solo.
