Biography
The J. Geils Band was a Worcester, Massachusetts sextet whose unchanged classic line-up played R&B-driven blues rock through the 1970s before a pop turn brought huge success with 'Freeze-Frame' and 'Centerfold' in the early 1980s. Renowned as one of America's great live bands, the group split in 1985 after Peter Wolf's departure, later reuniting periodically from 1999 until guitarist J. Geils died in 2017.
