Biography
The Kingsmen are a Portland, Oregon garage rock band formed in 1959, famous for their 1963 recording of 'Louie Louie', a number two hit whose garbled vocal prompted an FBI investigation and set the template for garage rock. Guitarist Mike Mitchell and drummer Dick Peterson anchored the band's later line-ups for many decades, and a Kingsmen line-up still performs today.
