Biography
The Knack was a United States power pop band formed in Los Angeles in 1978 by Doug Fieger, Berton Averre, Prescott Niles and Bruce Gary. Signed to #Capitol Records#, they hit number one in 1979 with the album 'Get the Knack' and the single 'My Sharona', one of the defining hits of the new wave era. Two weaker-selling albums followed before a 1982 split; periodic reunions from 1986 onward yielded further albums until Fieger's death in 2010 brought the band to a permanent end.
