Biography
The Michael Schenker Group formed in London, England, in 1979, as guitarist Michael Schenker's own band after his years with *Scorpions* and *UFO*. With singer Gary Barden, bassist Chris Glen and drummer Cozy Powell among its early members, the group released four studio albums in the early 1980s, including 'Assault Attack' and 'Built to Destroy', that made it a leading name in melodic hard rock and heavy metal. Schenker has revived the band repeatedly since, recording new albums with fresh line-ups into the 2000s.
