Biography
American blues institution led by guitarist and singer Robert Cray, recording under the Robert Cray Band billing since 1980 across some twenty studio albums. The band's soul-inflected modern blues broke through with 'Strong Persuader' (1986) and its single 'Smoking Gun', won multiple Grammy Awards, and remains a leading live act, with longtime bassist Richard Cousins still beside Cray, a working band in the truest sense.
