Biography

The Shadows of Knight were an American garage rock band formed in 1964 near Chicago and fronted throughout by singer Jim Sohns. House band at The Cellar in Arlington Heights, they signed to #Dunwich Records# and hit number 10 in 1966 with a raw cover of 'Gloria'. The albums 'Gloria' and 'Back Door Men' fused British Invasion energy with Chicago blues, and 'Oh Yeah' was later canonised on the 'Nuggets' compilation. The original line-up broke apart by 1967; Sohns led later versions until his death in 2022.
