Biography
The Soft Moon was the solo project of Oakland-based American musician Jose Luis Vasquez (1979-2024), its singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and sole official member. Founded in 2009, it moved from the post-punk of its 2010 self-titled debut on #Captured Tracks# toward industrial and darkwave on 'Zeros', 'Deeper' and 'Criminal', closing with the more spacious 'Exister' in 2022. Vasquez died in January 2024, and the project died with him.
