Biography
The Softies is the Portland duo of Rose Melberg and Jen Sbragia, both singing and playing guitar in hushed harmony. Their #K Records# albums 'It's Love' (1995), 'Winter Pageant' (1997), and 'Holiday in Rhode Island' (2000) are twee pop landmarks; after a long silence they returned with 'The Bed I Made' (2024). Their influence on bedroom pop and indie folk singers of the following generation is far larger than their modest sales would suggest.
