Paris experimental rock band Ulan Bator, formed in 1993 by Amaury Cambuzat and Olivier Manchion and named after the Mongolian capital, built their early albums in a converted chalk mine studio. Their krautrock and post-rock influenced records for #Les Disques du Soleil et de l'Acier# led to 'Ego:Echo' (2000), produced by *Michael Gira* for #Young God Records#. Cambuzat still leads the band, most recently with 'Stereolith' and 'Dark Times'.
