Biography
Boston psychedelic rock band formed in 1967 by multi-instrumentalist Ian Bruce-Douglas and promoted by producer Alan Lorber as the flagship of the Bosstown Sound. Their two Bruce-Douglas albums for #MGM#, 'Ultimate Spinach' and 'Behold & See', both from 1968, pair fuzz guitar, keyboards and Barbara Hudson's vocals in ambitious, satirical psychedelic suites. A reconfigured line-up made 'Ultimate Spinach III' in 1969 after his departure, and the group then disbanded.
