Biography
UNKLE is the British project of James Lavelle, founded in London in 1992 around his #Mo' Wax# label. The debut album 'Psyence Fiction' (1998), made with *DJ Shadow* and a cast of guest singers, defined trip hop for a wide audience. With Richard File and then Pablo Clements as Lavelle's partners, 'Never, Never, Land' (2003), 'War Stories' (2007) and 'Where Did the Night Fall' (2010) turned toward rock. Lavelle has led UNKLE alone since 2011, releasing 'The Road' albums in 2017 and 2019 and the 'Rลnin' records in 2021 and 2022.
