Wolfgang Riechmann

Biography

Wolfgang Riechmann was a German electronic musician from Düsseldorf who played in the Spirits of Sound Group with *Michael Rother* and *Wolfgang Flür*, then with Phönix and Streetmark, before making his only solo album. 'Wunderbar', recorded from late 1977 and released on #Sky Records# in 1978, is a melodic instrumental electronic record built from synthesizers, sequencers, electric violin, guitar and vibraphone. Riechmann was killed in a random knife attack in Düsseldorf only weeks before the album was released, and the record, later reissued by #Bureau B#, remains his sole solo statement.
