Women

Biography

Calgary quartet whose two albums, 'Women' (2008) and 'Public Strain' (2010), fused post-punk, noise rock and eerie multi-part harmonies. Recorded largely with *Chad VanGaalen* and released through #Flemish Eye# and #Jagjaguwar#, their work turned winter isolation and tape hiss into meticulously arranged songs. The band ended after guitarist Christopher Reimer's death in 2012; its members went on to *Preoccupations* and *Cindy Lee*, carrying Women's influence deep into 2010s underground rock.
