Biography
Leeds spiritual jazz ensemble built around tenor saxophonist Tony Burkill, with bassist and producer Neil Innes and drummer Sam Hobbs. Work Money Death began as the title of Burkill's 2017 debut album on #ATA Records#, then became the band name for 'The Space in Which the Uncontrollable Unknown Resides, Can Be the Place From Which Creation Arises' (2021). 'A Portal to Here' (2026), recorded after guitarist Chris Dawkins's death, offers four side-long improvisations in the lineage of *Pharoah Sanders* and *Alice Coltrane*, with harp and an expanded horn section.
