Biography
Zs is a Brooklyn experimental band founded in 2000 by saxophonist Sam Hillmer. Moving between sextet, quartet and trio formats, the group fuses post-minimalism, no wave, free jazz and noise into physically demanding, precisely coordinated performances. Since 2012 the core line-up of Hillmer, guitarist Patrick Higgins and drummer Greg Fox has produced the acclaimed albums 'Xe' (2015) and 'Noth' (2018), following earlier records such as 'Arms' (2007) and 'New Slaves' (2010).
