2017 - 2019

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking a significant departure from the soulful house of its predecessor, '2017 - 2019' sees Nicolas Jaar's Against All Logic alias pivot toward a jagged, industrial, and often abrasive electronic sound. The album is built on a foundation of distorted breakbeats, over-driven techno rhythms, and metallic textures, punctuated by manipulated vocal samples from artists like Beyoncé and a confrontational feature from no-wave artist Lydia Lunch. This collection of tracks often flows together uninterrupted, creating a relentless and sonically dense experience that explores a much harsher and more experimental side of Jaar's dance music productions.
