Album Notes & Community Reviews
In a towering achievement of classical recording, the legendary Italian string ensemble meticulously captured the entirety of the Austrian composer's seminal quartet works. The intensely focused, passionately articulated performances illuminate the revolutionary evolution from sweeping, late-romantic tonality to uncompromising, crystalline serialism. It is widely heralded as a definitive, benchmark interpretation of the Second Viennese School.
