Album Notes & Community Reviews
The set opens with the February 1947 sessions on which conguero Chano Pozo played with RodrĂguez's conjunto in Havana, among Pozo's last recordings before he left for New York and Dizzy Gillespie's band. It continues with the conjunto's 1948 SMC recordings, issued under the name Estrellas del Ritmo, and material associated with Montunos Cubanos, tracing the format across three labels in six years.
